God’s continued hate for sin-the reason for Noah’s flood.

Even after Adam and Eve were punished for their sin and sent out of God’s presence, humans continued sinning. They had no remorse for their disobedience and behaved as though God was non-existent.

As the population on earth increased, so was the manner of sin. It started with disobedience, i.e. eating from the forbidden tree by Adam and Eve, to murder of Abel by Cain. Eventually there was violence, sexual immorality or perversion, and various other sins abominable in the sight of God.

Genesis 6 verse 5

“The Lord saw that the people on the earth were very evil. He saw that they thought only evil things all the time.”…..verse 11-12…..”When God looked at the earth, he saw that people had ruined it. Violence was everywhere,…..”

God told the only man who was on earth with whom he was pleased to start construction of a huge boat to save himself and his family, a few animals and other creatures such as insects, birds, all crawling creatures, e.t.c, because he was going to destroy all the people on earth. Noah and his family found favor with God because he feared God.

Genesis 6 verse 13-

“God said to Noah,”Everyone has filled the earth with anger and violence. So I will destroy all living things. I will remove them from the earth.”

The Almighty God never fails. When Noah preached to the people that God was about to destroy all the people who were not living according to his will, they mocked him. He invited them to come and help him and his children to build the ark, a huge boat in which its occupants would be shielded from the heavy rains that God would cause to fall on the whole earth, but they chose to laugh at him: making him look like he was out of his mind.

“Every living thing on earth died- every man and woman, every bird, and every kind of animal. All the many kinds of animals that crawled on the ground died. Every living, breathing thing on the dry land died.” Genesis 7 verse 21-22

God has every right to destroy what is his. All the forms of life that died in the flood were all God’s. They did not please him.

Disobedience and indifference to God is punishable

In the letter, or otherwise commonly known as the book of Hebrews, chapter 9 and verse 27 we learn that every man and woman shall at one point stand before the judgement seat of God. Whatever we do in this world is not hidden from God. And it is also important to note that no creature can escape God’s judgement. What is important under the circumstances is one’s relationship to God, whether he or she finds favor in his sight.

John 1 verse 12

“But some people did accept him. They believed in him, and he gave them the right to become God’s children…..”

All the problems we have, as fallen human beings find solutions only in God. God has offered his only Son, Jesus Christ to die and atone for the sins mankind.

Jesus Christ is the only man that has fulfilled God’s requirement for reconciliation. We are now able to stand before God as his loving children; standing u condemned before him. The believer is clothed with the righteousness of Christ.

Hebrews 10 verse 29

“So think how much more punishment people deserve who show their hate for the So of God – people who show they have no respect for the blood sacrifice that began the new agreement…..”
Every human being has once again been given a chance to determine his or her future in eternity.
